Adult Altar Servers
The Adult Altar Servers assist at Funerals and Daily Mass.
Altar Servers
Young men and women grades 4 through 12 are part of the Altar Server Ministry.
Each server is assigned to a team which rotates serving Mass. Each team serves about every 5 weeks.
Cantors
The ministry of Cantor is by "audition" only.
Cantors lead the assembly in song and pray the Responsorial Psalm .
Choirs
There are many choirs to chose from at St. Kieran:
Adult Choir, Resurrection Choir, Women's Choir, Men's Choir and the Contemporary Group.
You don't need a degree in music to join, just a love of music and a spirit of dedication.
Master of Ceremonies
A Master of Ceremonies is a well trained, usually high school aged server, who takes on additional responsibilities during the Mass.
Funeral Prayer Service Leaders
These ministers lead Prayer Services at the Funeral Home for our deceased parishioners. Training is part of this ministry. These ministers are sent out two by two to pray and assist the families in time of need.
Ministers of the Eucharist
Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist serve at any Mass they attend. Each minister is required to participate in a discernment session before training to participate in this ministry.
Lectors
Lectors are assigned on a rotating basis to proclaim the Word of God. Each Lector is asked to have their reading critiqued and participate in a discernment session before being placed on the schedule.
Greeter
All parishioners, single, married, children and teens can be part of our Greeter Ministry. Greeters are assigned to a Mass they regularly attend. However, they can greet whenever they are present.
Sacristan
Sacristans assist setting up for the Mass and caring for the elements that are used in the celebration. Training is needed for serving in this ministry.
Ushers
Ushers are placed on a team and usually usher every other week. They assist with greeting and seating the people, collecting and securing the collection and assisting at communion to insure the proper reverence due the Eucharist.
Home bound Ministry
Home bound ministers bring the Eucharist to those parishioner who are unable to regularly attend Mass on the week-end. This ministry involves training and a compassionate, loving personality....
Worship Commission
The Worship Commission is made up of representatives from different facets of parish life that relate to worship. It is made up of one representative from Art & Environment, Liturgical Ministers Committee, Liturgy Planning and two members at large with additional representation from the Sacristans and Ushers.
Art & Envorinment
This Committee is responsible for the beautiful decorations you see in the Church and Gathering Area throughout the year. You don't need any special skills but a willingness to share and work as a team is important. What's most important is a desire to help.
Liturgical Ministers Committee
This Committee is made up of a representative from each of the Liturgical Ministries at St. Kieran. It serves as a sounding board for new ideas and also oversees the once a year gathering that all Liturgical Ministers are asked to attend to maintain their certification.
Liturgy Planning Committee
This Committee assists with the planning of "special" liturgies held at St. Kieran throughout the year such as, the All Souls Remembrance Mass, and Anniversary Mass. A love of good liturgy is the only requirement for this committee
