The Worship Commission, and its Committees, promotes and strengthens a program of continuing liturgical renewal. The Worship Commission also promotes and provides for programs of liturgical education, planning and evaluation. The Adoration Chapel was established at St. Kieran in 1997. The chapel is open Monday through Friday from 7:00a.m. to 10:00p.m. All parishioners are invited and encouraged to commit to one hour per week to maintain the Chapel. This devotion in our parish will bring you to a deeper sense of Christ’s closeness to you.

Fully initiated members of the parish who proclaim the Word of God at Mass, as well as non-Eucharistic liturgies. Lectors serve on a rotating schedule. Formation sessions for new Lectors are scheduled periodically throughout the year.

Fully initiated parishioners who distribute the Body and Blood of Christ during Mass. Formation sessions for new ministers are scheduled periodically throughout the year. Eucharistic Ministers sign in as needed when they come to Mass.

This ministry consists of men of the parish who are assigned to a team to serve at a particular Mass. They assist in the seating of people, take up the collection and generally help people as needed. They are occasionally called upon to usher at other liturgical and non-liturgical celebrations.

Young people in grades 4 and up are invited to volunteer for this vital liturgical ministry. Following training sessions, servers are assigned to a team which consists of at least one high school server who continues to mentor and encourage the younger servers.

Adult Acolytes(Altar Servers) are adult men parishioners who assist at liturgy during the week, at funerals, and other special services.

These parishioners are trained to lead Funeral Prayer Services. After training, a period of observing veteran Prayer Leaders takes place. When an individual is ready, he/she is teamed with another Leader of Prayer. (This is an excellent ministry for a married couple).

This ministry provides the opportunity for children between the ages of 5 and 12, to listen to the readings of the day in a way specifically designed for their age group. Discussion and prayers are also part of this process. There are at least two ministers at each Mass. Training and all materials are supplied by the Coordinator, Debi Williams.

The Right of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) This is the process which prepares adults for the sacraments of Baptism, First Eucharist and/or Confirmation. Parishioners serve as sponsors, leaders of scripture sharing, catechists, prayer leaders, and planners.
