St. Kieran Music Ministry

  • Adult Choir
  • SKY Beats
  • Kaleidoscope
  • Resurrection Choir
  • Contemporary
  • Cantors

The adult choir serves in two forms: as a Liturgical Choir (choir that sings at mass) and a Concert Choir. You can be in both if you would like but if you do not have time to sing every week, please still consider being a part of the Concert Choir. Wednesday night rehearsals, which will begin at 7:30 pm, will be used to practice for both Sunday liturgies as well as the Christmas concert.

Being a part of the choir does not require any experience in music, just a love of singing. When conducting choir rehearsals I will teach you more than just the words and notes; you will learn about music terminology and how to read music through simple means. You get to experience the joy of singing with an education in music along the way.

Rehearsals begin in September.

SKY Beats

SKY Beats is a teen contemporary ensemble that meets weekly to rehearse. Whether you sing or play an instrument (guitars, drums) you are welcome to join this energetic group of aspiring musicians.

SKY Beats does not rehearse during the summer and will resume in September.

Kaleidoscope

Kaleidocope is our children’s choir open to children in
2nd through 6th grade.

St. Kieran is looking for continued growth in the young peoples' ensemble, Kaleidoscope, as the children will be exposed to new upbeat music that they will want to sing. The children will sing at mass approximately once a month and on Christmas Eve.

Kaleidoscope rehearses on Wednesdays from 5:15 – 6:00 beginning in September.

The resurrection choir is an important body of singers who lead worship during funerals that take place at St. Kieran. As a singer in this group you provide a great shoulder of support to grieving families and show that the parish is here for them by singing at these resurrection masses. The resurrection choir may also sing for special masses and Holy days.

The choir rehearses on Tuesdays from 11:45 – 12:30.

Rehearsals will begin in September.

St. Kieran's contemporary ensemble features a variety of musicians who's primary focus is the 4:30 PM mass on Saturdays.

We are currently looking for a bass player for the group who can read music well. Please contact Matt if you are interested.

Cantoring is the ministry of vocally leading the music during masses and other liturgical celebrations. Anyone can be a cantor age 15+.
